working you into a lather

Happy Sunday!

Once again I’m quoting John Patrick Shanley. I urge you to ask these questions of your characters.

How do you really feel. What do you really think. Don’t be content with your answer. In some sense, you must be wrong. Simplicity lies deep in things. Simplicity is an achievement forged in the hottest fire, in the coldest eye. You walk to the end of the road and push on into unsettled regions. Your clothes rot, your body fails a little more each day, and still you search. You are searching for yourself, a being who rarely speaks or acts. What does the being feel? What does that being think? Would you even recognize the voice as your own?

Happy writing.
