Happy Sunday!

We’re back to the follow-on (see here, here, here, here, here, and here).

Have you ever had the experience of a word suddenly looking inexplicable? A word you know well? I find that happens after much repetition, it morphs into something else, other. Do you?

In any case, go back to your characters, to their objectives and tactics and obstacles. Rigorously ensure that their objectives actually conflict, are truly opposing, not just Character A’s “I want this” vs. Character B’s “I want you not to have this.”

IF you have fulfilled that, then today’s prompt is simple, if not easy. Look at what you’ve written already (see above, ‘follow-on’) and decide if you have enough to make a play*. If so, let it out. If not, go back and ensure that the wants actively oppose each other.

Happy writing!
