the Land of Cleve

Haven’t boasted about my hometown, lately.

Playhouse Square, one of the largest contiguous theater districts in America (up there with Lincoln Center and the Kennedy Center), celebrates its existence with a big ole chandelier nowadays, and we’re readying ourselves for the TCG National Conference. Pretty big doings for the Rust Belt.

We’re also the fourth-largest theater-producing area in America (someone please remind me where I read that statistic!).

And today I’m here to celebrate a new entity dedicated to keeping us apprised and organized in our crazy-busy town, the Cleveland Stage Alliance. It calls itself “an organization dedicated to providing theatergoers with up-to-date information” but is also extremely useful to theater practitioners, listing auditions and opportunities in addition to running, opening, and closing shows.

Yep, in the Land of Cleve we’re all about sharing info and supporting each other. I’m so glad and grateful to have returned.
