Think about the single most difficult, unfair relationship you’ve ever suffered.
We all have done, the lucky ones only in childhood, that relationship in which we were powerless in the face of an oppressor.
Was it a grade-school teacher who spilled your secrets to the class? The sibling for whose hijinks you were punished? The employer who held you to a different standard from others, who denigrated your much-more-useful work in service of the workings of the group? or of their own insecurities?
Now, write a play from the oppressor’s point of view.
Yeah, but you’ll thank me later.
